Does the World Want Peace? Ukrainian traveler, accordionist, and musician Dmytro Krymov joined the global music initiative  Live Peace

An interesting fact: this year I joined the global Live Peace initiative on September 21st, the International Day of Peace.

“Live Peace” unites people across countries through concerts, performances, and even small gatherings with one clear message: we want peace.

As reported by the official website: Live Peace: a civic initiative for a peace concert in collaboration with 7 Nobel Peace Prize laureates

“Live Peace” is an association established under the French Law of 1901, aiming to create a global movement that inspires people from all walks of life to advocate for peace through music, culture, and live performances.

“Live Peace” has already received support from 7 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, with whom we have signed collaboration agreements: the International Peace Bureau (IPB), the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), the Tawakkol Karman Foundation, the Shirin Ebadi Foundation, IPPNW, AFSC, and Maired Maguire. “Live Peace” is also supported by the Peace Movement and the organization Mayors for Peace France, which includes over sixty member cities.

History shows the impact of civic movements on major societal achievements: the abolition of slavery, India’s independence, the end of racial segregation, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of apartheid…

As Albert Camus wrote two days after the nuclear attack on Hiroshima: “Faced with the terrible prospects opening before humanity, we see more clearly than ever that peace is the only goal worth striving for. It is no longer a prayer, but a demand that all peoples must present to their governments: to finally choose between hell and reason.”

“Live Peace” is about people demanding peace through music.

Live Peace, Annecy: the first two concerts will gather 10,000 people for peace in Annecy and 1,000 people in Germany, in Homburg-sur-Saar, on September 21, 2025.

“Live Peace” is pleased to announce the organization of a concert in Annecy on the occasion of the UN International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in the heart of Vignières-Pommarie Park. The concert will host up to 10,000 attendees.

The first confirmed artists include: Magic System, Les 3 Cafés Gourmands, Leuz Diwane G, Joachim Garraud, Lancelot, DJ Ralph, DJ Deal, Fein Cerra, Les Rastas Raclettes…

Several Nobel Peace Prize laureates will be present in Annecy, including Dr. Mukwege and Philippe Jennings, co-president of the International Peace Bureau.

As part of my academic research on cultural security, I decided not only to observe but also to take part. For me, music has always been more than art – it is dialogue, a bridge between cultures, and even a way to prevent conflicts.

That’s why I prepared and shared a press release about “Live Peace” with international media outlets. My goal was to make sure that the theme of peace does not remain overshadowed by the dramatic and war-focused narratives that dominate the news.

Interestingly, no journalist has replied so far. We’ll see what happens next :)

For me, this experiment is significant. It shows not only the media’s reaction but also how much space there really is for news about peace in today’s information world. After all, we often ask: does the world truly want peace?

🎵 Accordion in Opera and Musical Theatre

🎵 Accordion in Opera and Musical Theatre 🎶 The Accordion — An Underrated Gem in Contemporary Academic Music The accordion may not be the most popular instrument in contemporary academic music, but it offers several key advantages: a rich timbre, portability, and the ability to create a vivid and expressive atmosphere. Why the Accordion Shouldn’t Be Pushed Off Stage In modern academic and theatrical music, the accordion appears less frequently than the piano or violin — and that’s exactly what makes it so valuable. This instrument can convey a wide range of moods, from light humor to dramatic tension. Its timbre adds color and texture to performances, and its live sound is well-suited for both chamber venues and open-air stages.

Jahrhu...
